Using the calendar, decide on a mathematician to study. You are to present information about the person and one of his/her major contributions to mathematics. Do NOT make this an elementary biography. This is not about the person's birth, schooling, jobs, and death, though they can be mentioned. It is to be more about the contribution he/she made. While you should include some basic biographical information, do not focus on it. Who or motivated him/her? What were the roadblocks? Who or what benefited from the contribution? Did it have unexpected results or consequences?

All work will be graded according to the rubric below. Make sure you read it carefully.
Due Dates & Grades
No work will be accepted late. Your work is due 1 week after the person's birthday according to the calendar. Saturday and Sunday birthdays are due Monday, 9 and 8 days later, respectively. The work will be credited in the grading period it is received.Only one assignment can be turned per grading period.
Do not expect the assignment to raise your grade significantly. It will NOT move you 10 percentage points to the next letter grade. Remember the assignment will not be accepted late. If you have questions, do not wait until the day before it is due to ask.
